The Simon Department
First Baptist Church, Midland, Texas
Welcome to the Simon Department website. We hope this is a valuable resource for department members -- and prospective members -- for keeping up with ministry opportunities and with each other.
This site is not intended to replace our Yahoo Group email list, which should still be used for day-to-day contacts and up-to-the-minute announcements of things that are important to all members. Instead, think of the website as an Information Booth that's open 24/7. Emails get deleted; lists and reminders get lost; contact sheets get swallowed up in the pages of Bibles or quarterlies. If things work out like we plan, when those things happen, you'll still be able to find the information you need right here.
Your lost car keys? We can't help you with those.
If you have any questions, please email .

Missions Emphasis
Updated 6/29/09
- We're helping Don and Cynthia Schneider with some of their yard work while Don's recovering from his recent foot surgery. Here's the sign-up for mowing their front yard during June:
- Tues. 6/30 Jerry Brim (after work)
- Tues. 6/30 Jerry Brim (after work)
- First Sunday Food Offering: Our department is placing special emphasis on this important ministry that is administered by the Baptist CRISIS Center. Members can sign up to bring ONE of the three food items assigned to our department on the first Sunday of each month. This should make it easier to keep track of our commitment. We will keep these assignments for a year. (Note: We'll re-circulate the signup sheet to in response to the new food assignments.)
Here are the food items assigned to our department: 1lb bags of sugar; liquid cooking oil; canned tomatoes
On the first Sunday of each month, bring your food items and put them in one of the baskets in the hallway. The church will collect and deliver them to the CRISIS Center.
